Good morning ladies and gentleman!
Today you can witness the (re)birth of a new baby blog. I can say re-birth because my previous blog (gustavobonato.com) had a terrible destiny: it was eaten by internet worms and virus. It became dysfunctional and I decided to start the whole thing from the beginning. Once more.
First thing you will notice is the new URL, www.bonato.cc. For those who want to know about the funny “.cc”: it’s the domain for Coconut Islands. I have nothing to do with that place. I just wanted a short address and the only nice bonato dot something which was available was that “.cc”. I found it quite good and decided to go for it.
Second thing you will notice is a change in subjects. Every blog must have something to focus, and my previous one had the most tedious topic: myself. I realize not many people was interested in Gustavo as a “theme”. Plus, at this point in my life, I can see that exposing some deep and personal thoughts may not the best idea. Taking the advantage that my previous writings were dragged down to the internet black hole, I will now write about “other stuff”.
It took me a couple of weeks to realize what could be that “other stuff”. I decided, then, to dedicate this space to what I know how to do: “online investigations”.
From now on, you will see presented here some curious articles, pushed by the author’s curiosity. The source will be the internet and only it. The idea is to go deep and look into stories that are not well told, dig up some bizarre findings or even to come up with a plan to bring the Eiffel tower to Porto Alegre.
There won’t be “copy+paste”, even though online services will be used to check the proper spelling of words.
I may say it will be a “relaxed journalism”. Good articles, but no commitment to bring all the 389 versions of the same fact. My biggest challenge will be to hunt for information in unusual place, in a voluptuous combinations of tools and acumen.
Welcome on board!
